This presentation is a fast-paced and high energy presentation on the the lessons of Kanban in Manufacturing applied to Kanban for Software development.
Arjay began his career as a project manager in a tier-one supplier to automotive industry. It was there that he was exposed to the simple genius of Kanban on the shop floor. Since those days, he has come to Agile software development, and has helped teams in varying industries apply Kanban using the lessons he learned on the shop floor. Those experiences have not only helped him guide teams in their successful set up, but they have also provided him with the insight to tell teams when kanban might not be right for them. Yes, you read that correctly–Kanban is not always the right choice.
He will talk you through Kanban’s “sweet spot” implementations–scenarios where WIP limits and bottlenecks really provide the transparency and throughput the teams are looking–, but he will also talk you through the situations where Kanban might not be a good fit. He hopes that attendees will walk away from this session ready to give Kanban a try or ready to troubleshoot their current Kanban implmentations. If nothing else, they will all have a better understanding of Kanban.
