Accepting Uncertainty with Respect to Agile Budgeting
Topic suggested by Rob Hoover, advice given by Tim Wise
Session2, Space 11
The discussion blurred a little because we moved from this topic in and out of accountability
- Make smaller commitments- smaller chance of being wrong (and less impact).
- Release Often
- See Chris Avery’s work on Responsibility
o Ask What can I do? Versus forcing somebody else’s hand.
- “7 Habits” kept coming up, especially with respect to interdependence.
- Fill in the blank. “This failed because _____ did or did not do X, Y, Z.”
o Is the blank something like they or business? Can we get to I/we?
- Get to collective ownership.
o Enforce PO accountability for (note 1 and 3 balance each other):
- Speed
- Predictability (don’t interrupt team intrasprint).
- Quality
- How to invest in innovation?
- Automation for brown field (only write tests for what you touch).
