You may have helped teams as an external consultant. You fly in, review the situation, speak with teams, make recommendations, assess their progress, and then fly out. But throughout the process your voice carries weight. You are the hired expert.
But when coaching internally things may be different. You get a longer time horizon to see how recommendations affect teams. But the disadvantage is you may just feel like ‘one of the gang’ – without the weight of the external mantle for your words. How does this change how you deal with internal education? A project management office? Upper Management? Tools and IT groups? Other Agile coaches?
Come join and discuss the strengths and perils of the internal Agile coach.
